Day Five: Scorching Heat In Islamabad

Today was yet another sweltering day in Islamabad, with temperatures reaching around 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This weather was strangely mixed with scattered heavy showers, a welcome, yet surprising break from the heat. I used these windows to walk around Islamabad and run a few errands, including a stop  at the Thuraya store to pick up a few refill cards for my sat phone, and taking a few pictures of the city (the haze didn’t exactly make for award winning photos). After the heat had drained every ounce of energy I had, I returned to the hotel to organize a few things, and headed to bed. I must admit, I am looking forward to getting up to Skardu and getting started on the trek to Base Camp.
