2007 Xixabangma Expedition

Dispatch Three: August 30th, 2007

Day Three: Free Day In Kathmandu; Arrival of the remainder of team

Today, I woke up at 6:00am, watched some news, took a shower, and went down to the lobby to have breakfast. Afterwards, I made a few phone calls then went out to again search for the last few items I needed for the expedition. Upon my return, I met the other Americans who were to be my team mates on Shishapangma. After that, I returned to my room and sorted my loads and ensured I had remembered to pack everything that I needed for the expedition. I managed to make my bags 30kg’s each and packed them in a way that would be comfortable for the yaks (padded any sharp edges and placed softer clothing on the outside and sharp gear on the inside). I went to bed after ten, an indication that I had finally adjusted to the time difference in Nepal.
